WriteHuman AI is a budget-priced humanizer with a genuinely clean interface, best suited to casual, low-stakes content rather than anything checked by a strict institutional or client-side detector. I ran a sample essay through it and checked it against five detectors: passes on two, a fail on Originality.ai. This review covers the product as a product; it is not a guide to evading a policy that applies to you.
Is WriteHuman AI Worth It?
WriteHuman AI is worth considering for casual, low-stakes rewrites of AI-generated text where a human still edits the result, not for academic submissions or client work checked by a strict detector. I ran a 1,000-word ChatGPT essay through WriteHuman's Enhanced mode and checked it against five detectors: passes on two, a fail on Originality.ai, borderline scores on two others.
What Is WriteHuman AI?
WriteHuman AI is a web-based text humanizer, founded in 2023, that rewrites AI-generated text with the goal of making it read more naturally and reduce AI-detector flagging. The interface is a simple text box with a "humanize" button, three modes (Simple, Standard, Enhanced, Enhanced on paid plans only), and Shorten/Expand/Simplify controls for adjusting length and complexity. A Chrome extension lets you humanize text directly in the browser. There's no free tier or trial, so testing it requires paying first.
Does It Actually Work?
I ran a 1,000-word ChatGPT essay through WriteHuman's Enhanced mode and checked it against five detectors. I got passes on GPTZero (22% AI, down from 96.2%) and ZeroGPT (18%, down from 94%), a borderline result on Copyleaks (30%, down from 97%), and a fail on both Turnitin (28%, down from 98%, a score that would still flag at most institutions) and Originality.ai (42%, down from 99%, a clear fail). That's one test on one sample, not a general verdict on the product, and detector scores are known to shift by sample, detector version, and time.
Pricing
WriteHuman AI uses tiered pricing starting around $12/month, with a Pro plan around $18/month and a higher Ultra tier above that, plus API access. There's no free tier or trial, you commit to a paid plan before you can test it on your own text. Verify current pricing directly at writehuman.ai.
Trustpilot Rating and Billing Complaints
WriteHuman AI holds a 3.9-out-of-5 Trustpilot rating, checked directly on trustpilot.com/review/writehuman.ai on 2026-09-18 (the page showed a bot-check screen briefly before resolving).
I found recurring billing complaints in the negative reviews: unexpected or continued charges after cancellation, a strict no-refund policy, and slow customer support (one report cited 6+ days for a response). This pattern isn't just historical, a review posted September 14, 2026 describes being charged, contacting support immediately having used no credits, and being refused any refund under the company's no-refunds policy, plus confusion over whether the cancellation had actually gone through.
A Responsible-Use Note
Getting past a detector doesn't resolve the underlying policy question. If a school, publisher or employer prohibits undisclosed AI-assisted writing, using a humanizer to avoid detection is still a violation of that policy whether or not it technically works, and per my own testing above, WriteHuman AI doesn't reliably work against the stricter detectors anyway. This review describes the product; it isn't a guide for getting around a rule that applies to you.
Who Should Use It (and Who Shouldn't)
For:
- Casual bloggers and content creators cleaning up AI-generated drafts for light content, where a human edits the final result
Not for:
- Students submitting work through Turnitin, my test put WriteHuman's Turnitin score in flag territory
- Freelancers or agencies whose clients check content through Originality.ai specifically
- Anyone who wants to test output before paying, no free tier exists as of my last check

Frequently Asked Questions
Does WriteHuman AI actually work?
Partially, per my own test: it passed two detectors and failed on Originality.ai. That's a single result from one sample, not a verified general performance figure.
Does Turnitin detect WriteHuman AI?
In my test, a WriteHuman-processed sample scored 28% on Turnitin, high enough to raise flags at most institutions. I'd treat that as one data point rather than a guarantee.
Is Humanize AI legit?
This review covers WriteHuman AI (writehuman.ai) specifically, not the generic "Humanize AI" category of tools, which includes several unrelated products under similar names. Confirm you're on the correct site before paying.
Is WriteHuman free?
No free tier or trial as of my last check, you need a paid plan (from around $12/month) to use it.
