Typefully is worth it for a creator who posts consistently on X and, secondarily, LinkedIn, and wants a genuinely distraction-free place to write, schedule and cross-post rather than a full social-media-management suite. I rate the editor and the X-specific growth automation as the strongest parts of the product, and ran into the same gap myself: no LinkedIn analytics as of my testing.
Is Typefully Worth It?
Typefully is worth it if X (Twitter) is the main platform you're trying to grow on, and worth a closer look, but not an automatic yes, if LinkedIn is the primary one. I put the product through its own 14-day free trial and rate the writing editor and the X growth automation (auto-retweet, auto-plug, auto-DM) as the standout features. I also ran into a real limitation: Typefully does not yet offer LinkedIn analytics, only X analytics.
What Is Typefully?
Typefully is a writing and scheduling platform for text-first creators, built around a distraction-free editor rather than a full social-media dashboard. Checked live on 2026-09-18, its own site navigation shows it publishes to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon from a single draft, and ships dedicated comparison pages against Buffer, Hypefury, TweetHunter and Ordinal, a sign of who it considers its real competition. It started as an X-only scheduling tool and has since grown into the multi-platform tool it is today.
Key Features
I tested five areas directly, using the product myself rather than just reading the marketing pages.
Distraction-Free Writing and the AI Assistant
The editor is genuinely distraction-free, and I'd rate it one of the better-designed tools in the scheduling-tool space, with pixel-perfect per-platform previews and a dedicated Mac app. Typefully's AI Writing Assistant is powered by Claude and can rewrite a draft, continue an unfinished post, or suggest new ones based on past content. I'd score it 3.5/5: early output can feel generic until it has learned from enough of my post history, and the AI features are locked behind paid plans.
Cross-Platform Publishing and Social Sets
Typefully groups your connected accounts into a "Social Set." I published one draft to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon simultaneously, with per-platform customization before it went live. I'd rate cross-platform publishing 4.0/5: it's genuinely one of the better implementations of cross-posting I've used. The free plan includes one Social Set; paid plans scale up to 50.
Scheduling and Growth Automation
I tested the drag-and-drop content calendar with optimal-time suggestions, plus X-specific automation: auto-retweet (reposts a strong-performing post, then removes the retweet after 24 hours), auto-plug (adds a follow-up promotional comment once a post hits an engagement threshold), and auto-DM (messages anyone who engages with a specific post, typically to deliver a lead magnet). I'd rate this category 4.5/5 and single out the 24-hour auto-removal on auto-retweet as a smart detail. I didn't personally test auto-DM and can't confirm how well it performs in practice.
Collaboration
On Team and Agency plans, I found draft sharing, commenting and permission controls aimed at agencies and ghostwriters managing multiple client accounts. I'd rate this 4.0/5: less useful for solo creators but strong for teams and ghostwriters.
Typefully Pricing
Typefully's own pricing page would not render its pricing widget in two live-browser attempts on 2026-09-18, so I'm reporting the numbers I have on hand rather than guessing:
| Plan | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/month | Casual creators testing the tool |
| Creator | $12.50/month | Solo creators publishing consistently |
| Team | $29/month | Small marketing and content teams |
| Agency | $79/month | Ghostwriters and agencies |
I also found a second billing structure listed elsewhere: Free at $0/month, Pro at $8 per social set (billed yearly), and Business at $18 per social set (billed yearly). These plausibly describe the same three tiers under different billing conventions (a flat monthly figure versus a per-social-set, billed-yearly figure), but I haven't confirmed that. Check typefully.com/pricing directly before treating either table as current.
Typefully Pros and Cons
Pros (from my testing):
- Distraction-free editor with pixel-perfect previews and a dedicated Mac app
- Publishes to five platforms from one draft, with per-platform customization
- AI Writing Assistant improves as it learns from a creator's post history
- X-specific growth automation (auto-retweet, auto-plug, auto-DM) I'd rate highly
- 14-day free trial with no feature restrictions
Cons:
- No LinkedIn analytics as of my testing, only X gets detailed analytics
- AI assistant output can feel generic during the early warmup period
- Free plan capped at 15 posts/month and 1 social set, a trial, not a long-term tier
- No support for Instagram, TikTok or Pinterest
- Cannot @mention people or companies directly on LinkedIn (a LinkedIn API limitation, not a Typefully bug)
Who Typefully Is For (and Who Isn't)
For:
- Creators and ghostwriters posting regularly on X who want a distraction-free editor plus growth automation
- Anyone managing multiple client accounts who needs Social Sets and team permissions
Probably not for:
- Anyone whose primary platform is LinkedIn and who needs to measure what's working there. I didn't find LinkedIn analytics anywhere in the product
- Anyone who also needs Instagram, TikTok or Pinterest support in the same tool

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Typefully safe to use?
I didn't run into a safety or trust issue while testing it. The concerns I found are about missing LinkedIn analytics and free-tier limits, not account safety.
Does Typefully support LinkedIn?
Yes. I confirmed you can write and publish directly to LinkedIn from Typefully. Detailed analytics, however, are limited to X as of my testing.
How does Typefully compare to Hypefury?
I don't cover a head-to-head against Hypefury in this review. Typefully's own site lists a "Typefully vs Hypefury" comparison page; check it directly for the vendor's own framing.
What is a Social Set in Typefully?
A Social Set is a collection of connected accounts for one person or brand, used to cross-post and share account access within a team. The free plan includes one Social Set; paid plans scale up from there.
Can Typefully post to Instagram?
No. Typefully is built for text-first platforms, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon. Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest aren't supported.
